A group, Obidience/Simplified Movement, has expressed support for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, for this weekend’s poll.

In a statement, yesterday, after their meeting in Port Harcourt, the coordinator, Chief Ken Agala, recalled that they started off as an advocacy group that evaluates support for most credible candidates.

He said: “In Nigeria, we stand by Mr. Peter Obi and we encourage him to fight and reclaim his mandate through the courts, but in Rivers State, we have evaluated all candidates and settled for Amaopusenibo Siminalayi ‘Sim’ Fubara to succeed Governor Nyesom Wike as next governor of Rivers State. We find similar traits of character, capacity and commitment to doing a good job in both leaders. Both are humble, brilliant and have financial backgrounds, which show their capacity to manage scarce resources for the benefit of all, which is the primary duty of government.

According to Agala, members of the group are independent-minded, apolitical and professionals in their various fields.

According to him, Fubara had served the state creditably and remained free from political baggage, hence his general acceptance by lovers of good governance in Rivers.

The coordinator pleaded with the people to back Fubara as someone, who could sustain infrastructure development of the state.
