Ogun ADC deputy guber candidate, Awonuga, celebrates Amosun at 65

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) deputy governorship candidate in Ogun State, Olatunde Awonuga, has eulogised the former governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA), on his 65th birthday.

Awonuga, in a statement, yesterday, described Amosun as an uncommon professional, humanist and principled democrat.

“It is a joyful moment to join the progressive family in Ogun State, Nigeria and across the globe to felicitate with Amosun on his 65th birthday. He is indeed a man of enviable accomplishments by all standards. I celebrate the grace of God upon his life and wish him more graceful years ahead.

“The record of performance of Senator Amosun as governor of Ogun State remains a defining standard for politics and governance. As a senator, he has continued to demonstrate that political leadership should be about pursuing the greater interest of the majority in the society.

“SIA is widely regarded as the undisputable architect of modern Ogun State. His landmark achievements in qualitative education, accessible healthcare services, agro-allied investments, industrialisation, affordable housing, among other laudable feats, are written in gold across the landscape of Ogun State,” the statement stated.

He said Amosun is widely acknowledged as a foremost leader of progressive politics in Ogun State and has featured as one of the pillars upon which the bridge of All Progressives Congress (APC) was built and nurtured across Nigeria.

Awonuga commended Amosun’s principled position on politics and governance, noting that it is a massive testimony to his enviable political pedigree and track record in governance.
