Ohanaeze denies giving FG ultimatum on Shiites
Th apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday said that it lacked the locus standi to issue an ultimatum on the Federal Government on the uprising by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).
Ohanaeze also distanced itself from a seven-day ultimatum issued by a Coalition of Ohanaeze Youths Groups on the Federal Government to declare the IMN a terrorist group.
In a statement signed by Media Adviser to the President General, Emeka Attamah, the organisation described the position of the coalition as “irrational.”
“It is necessary for the umpteenth time to warn individuals and groups to desist forthwith from frivolous use of the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to carry out their nefarious activities or seek cheap publicity,” the statement said.
