IN a historic move set to redefine the nation’s identity management landscape, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has officially approved the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Scheme of Service.

This approval, which came Friday is the first of its kind for the Commission since its inception—represents a quantum leap in NIMC’s institutional evolution.

Spearheaded by the leadership of the Director General/CEO, Dr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the new framework is the cornerstone of her five-point agenda to transform NIMC into a modern, efficient, and globally competitive institution.

The approved Scheme of Service establishes a robust, world-class structure that clearly defines career progression pathways, cadres, and professional standards.

Beyond the existing framework, it introduces specialized cadres in Enrolment, Card Management, and Commercial operations—a strategic move designed to future-proof the Commission against emerging digital demands.

During the formal presentation ceremony, Deputy Director of the Scheme of Service at OHCSF, lmirhe Gabriel Nwagolo, lauded NIMC’s dedication to excellence, noting that the Commission stands among a select elite of Federal Agencies to secure such a dedicated approval.

Representing the DG/CEO, the Head of Human Capital Management, Mrs. Rhoda Jackden, described the approval as “a laudable and significant milestone,” reaffirming NIMC’s commitment to aggressive implementation.

This achievement aligns seamlessly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritizing human capital development as a catalyst for national growth.
