Olubadan loses wife

The death has occurred of Olori Kudirat Adetunji, the eldest wife of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji. Adetunji, aged 71, was said to have died yesterday and was buried in the afternoon, according to Moslem rites at the Popooyemoja Palace of the monarch.

The death has occurred of Olori Kudirat Adetunji, the eldest wife of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji. Adetunji, aged 71, was said to have died yesterday and was buried in the afternoon, according to Moslem rites at the Popooyemoja Palace of the monarch.

Until her death, she was the Iyaloja of Bolade, Oshodi Market, Lagos.Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, while commiserating with the monarch, described the death as unfortunate and disheartening.

Ajimobi in a statement by his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, said: “The governor received the sad news with shock and disbelief. ”He described the incident as a big loss, not only to the Olubadan but also, to the entire people of the ancient city.
