Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has promoted six chiefs in the Balogun line, charging them to protect the dignity of traditional institutions and preserve the cultural heritage of Ibadanland.
The promotion exercise took place on Friday at the banquet hall of the Olubadan’s Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Oba Ladoja urged the newly elevated chiefs to remain loyal to the throne and work collectively towards the progress and development of Ibadanland.

“You should be loyal to me and join in the efforts to take Ibadanland to a greater height, which is our collective responsibility,” the monarch said.
He expressed concern over land grabbing in Ibadanland, describing the practice as a major threat to investment and development.
“The issue of land grabbing in Ibadanland is giving me sleepless nights and is highly worrisome, for if there is no land, where will investors put up their projects?” he asked.

The monarch also urged the chiefs to promote peaceful coexistence, protect lives and property in their respective domains, and make unity, security, love for Ibadanland and development their watchwords.
