Ondo govt reiterates no vaccine no work entry, gives workers ultimatum
The Ondo State government has issued a two-week ultimatum for all workers in the state to get vaccinated.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Segun Odusanya, who gave the warning, yesterday, at a meeting with the management and members of staff of the ministry, said that presentation of vaccination card and compliance to protocols would be gateway pass to work places from November 1, 2021.
He said that the meeting was a fall-out of an earlier one with the Head of Service, Niran Adeyemo, who directed that any civil servant on the state payroll not vaccinated by November 1, 2020, would not be allowed into the office.
Odusanya, who vowed to enforce the directive as a means of protecting members of staff, reminded them that the COVID-19 pandemic was not yet over, hence the need for them to get vaccinated and obey the protocols.
He urged the workers to prioritise their health by doing routine checks of their blood pressure, blood sugar and other necessary checks.
He also appealed to the workers to be very prudent with spending in view of the prevalent economic situation in the country.
