Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) said it received a shocking report that security personnel of OPSH deployed at Farin Gada, beat and murdered a commercial taxi driver, Mr. Abdullahi Karafa.

OPSH Commander, Major General Ibrahim Ali, in a statement yesterday said, he visited the deceased family and condoled with them over the unfortunate incident, as soon as he received the news.

The statement by the OPSH Military Information Officer (MIO), Maj Ishaku Takwa, said the commander has since constituted a board of inquiry to unravel those behind the heinous act.

He assured that those who would be found culpable would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

“ The Commander reiterated that troops deployed on the Plateau  State were always warned to conduct themselves in the most professional manner in line with global best practices and respect for the fundamental rights of the citizenry and strict adherence to rules of engagement.

“Therefore, any act short of this is condemnable and unacceptable by OPSH,” the statement added.
