Osoba, dignitaries celebrate Aina, Raji’s legacy at Odu’a farewell
It was a hilarious evening as former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba, led other distinguished Nigerians in pouring encomiums on former chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, Dr Segun Aina, and former Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Adewale Raji, at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.
The event was a farewell party organised by the management of Odu’a Investment Company Limited in honour of the two retired company chief executives. At the event themed: “Celebrating Years of Legacy… a Journey of Transformation and Growth”, Osoba extolled Aina and Raji for their contributions to the progress of the institution.
According to him, the duo worked hard to preserve the legacy of the late premier of the Western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Other dignitaries at the event, including the Secretary to the Ogun State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, and former Minister of Industry, Nike Akande, extolled the contribution of the men for nurturing the firm to profitability and ensuring the image of the region is still waxing strong.
In his welcome address, the Group Chairman, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, described the titans as forthright leaders who distinguished themselves as institutional builders and would therefore be remembered for their integrity, dedication, focus, transparency and attention to detail.
He stressed that it was an honour to have worked with Aina and Raji, and he wished them good health in their future endeavours.Responding to the accolades, Aina premised all he did on the help of God and the cooperation of the management. On his part, the former GMD appreciated God and members of the board for their support without which he would not have been able to succeed.
