PDP berates Oyetola over state’s 36th position in WAEC ranking

The Osun State Government has banned roadside trading in markets, following the recent attack on the convoy of Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, wife of the state governor, at Owode-Ede Market.

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, who disclosed this in a statement after the State Executive Council meeting, said the ban became necessary owing to traffic snarls and danger to everybody using the markets.

MEANWHILE, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, berated the governor and the ruling All Progressives Congress, following the recent state-by-state performance ranking index released by the West African Examinations Council where Osun is ranked 36th among the 36 states and the FCT.

The PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, while reacting to Osun State’s performance record in the Senior School Certificate Examination for the 2022 calendar year, asked the Oyetola-led government to apologise to the people of the state for the alleged destructive handling of the education system, which culminated into the very shameful placement.

The PDP lamented the distasteful result as a function of the laissez-faire attitude of APC-led administration to education in the state, leaving the all-important sector in the hands of do-nothing propagandists, while the proverbial future leaders are having their future inadvertently fogged up.
