The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s creative sector as 100 creative entrepreneurs successfully graduated from the Creative Acceleration Programme (CAP) in Cross River State.
Designed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills in content creation, financial literacy, photography, and business development, the program empowers creatives with the knowledge and tools needed to scale their ventures and contribute to the broader creative economy.
Reinforcing its commitment to fostering sustainable growth, the program awarded grants of ₦500,000 each to 10 outstanding businesses, providing crucial support for their expansion and long-term success.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Fegho Umunubo, Special Assistant to the President on Creative and Digital Economy, highlighted the program’s impact:
“The creative industry is one of the most dynamic sectors of our economy. Initiatives like this are critical in shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs. The impact of these creatives will be felt far beyond Cross River State as they take their businesses to new heights.”
Also present at the event was Great Ogban, Director General of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRS-MEDA), who commended the program’s success:
“This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and investment in human capital. The creative minds we have nurtured today will drive innovation and economic transformation in the state.”
With the continued support of key stakeholders, the Creative Acceleration Program is poised to play a pivotal role in establishing Cross River State as a hub for creative excellence and entrepreneurship, further strengthening Nigeria’s digital and creative economy.
