Civil servants in Oyo State were in a joyous mood yesterday as they received their May salary ahead of the Eid-el Fitri celebration.

The Guardian learnt that prompt payment of this month’s salary by the Governor Seyi Makinde administration was in a bid to ensure that the workers celebrate the Eid-el Fitri festival well.

Meanwhile, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) yesterday felicitated with its customers and other Nigerians on the celebration of Eid-el Fitri, promising to ensure stable power supply during the festival.

In a statement, the Chief Operating Officer of IBEDC, Engr. John Ayodele, urged Muslim faithful to continue to display the virtues and the morals of the Ramadan season.

Ayodele said: “IBEDC is aware that our customers are looking forward to enjoying regular power supply during the holidays. So, we are committed to ensuring this as much as is within our remit and control.

Our technical crews are also available to rectify any faults that may arise during this period.”
