Oyo upgrades Emmanuel Alayande college of education to varsity

The Oyo State Executive Council has approved the upgrading of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo Town, into a full-fledged university of education.

To begin administration of COVID-19 vaccine next week

The Oyo State Executive Council has approved the upgrading of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo Town, into a full-fledged university of education.

The university would be known as Emmanuel Alayande University of Education.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, disclosed this, yesterday, while briefing journalists on the outcome of the council meeting.

Olaleye said the school had all the needed facilities to take off as a degree-awarding higher institution.

He added that all necessary procedures would be duly followed and relevant agencies and stakeholders would also be consulted throughout the upgrading processes.

MEANWHILE, the state government said it had concluded plans to begin administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine next week with a test of its suitability on the potential receivers.

The government said the administration of the vaccine would begin next week.
