Peaceful election in Benue as EFCC arrests PDP campaign DG

The conduct of election was peaceful in Benue State, as there were no reported cases of violence just as the BVAS worked optimally.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council Director General, Cletus Tyokyaa, was however, arrested with N100,000 cash by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for trying to buy votes.

The anti graft agency’s spokesman in Makurdi, the state capital, Bayo Adeniran, confirmed the development to newsmen with a promise to give more details after proper investigation.

The National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, who voted in Gboko Council, commended the transparent conduct of the polls.

Similarly, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Austin Agada, also expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the elections. The two-party stalwarts commended INEC’s efforts in improving the electoral process and called for it to be sustained.
