The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) held a farewell ceremony to honor the late David Shikfu Parradang, the former Comptroller General of Immigration, celebrating his legacy of dedication and service.

The event, which featured a 21-gun salute, was attended by colleagues, dignitaries, and well-wishers who paid their respects to a leader known for his discipline, wisdom, and commitment to improving the NIS.

Parradang, who served as Comptroller General, was credited with implementing key reforms that enhanced the efficiency of the service.

He dedicated over 30 years to public service, serving in various states including Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the Federal Capital Territory. Additionally, he participated in professional courses both locally and internationally.

The current Comptroller General, KN Nandap, led the NIS in conducting the ceremony, ensuring it reflected the institution’s respect for Parradang’s significant contributions.

Born on September 6, 1959, in Pankshin, Plateau State, Parradang earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Jos and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Lagos. He was also a member of the National Institute, Kuru, and was honored as an Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).

While Parradang has passed, his legacy remains in the foundation he built and the officers he mentored. The NIS demonstrated its commitment to honoring those who serve with distinction.
