The annual event is expected to attract political leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, entertainers, media practitioners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the convener, Amb. Dr Kingsley Amafibe, said the 16th edition would celebrate outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, leadership, humanitarian service, entrepreneurship, public service, education, healthcare, entertainment, media and community development.

He explained that the awards went beyond celebrating professional accomplishments to recognising how individuals deployed their positions, resources and influence to improve lives and strengthen communities.

According to him, the initiative seeks to honour people whose achievements reflect peace, integrity, innovation, compassion, service and excellence, while inspiring others to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Amafibe said peace should not be understood merely as the absence of conflict, but as a condition in which people have opportunities to thrive, differences are resolved through dialogue, and communities coexist in an atmosphere of inclusion and mutual respect.

He added that the event would combine the celebration of achievements with conversations on national unity and responsible leadership.

The convener said the ceremony would also encourage young Nigerians to pursue excellence and deploy their talents towards making positive contributions to society.
