The Lagos State Command has arrested a Chinese and his Nigerian accomplice for allegedly planning to assassinate a business partner in Lagos.

The Chinese suspect, Mr. Sung Hun, a.k.a. Tiger, was arrested by detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), having allegedly paid N1 million to a ‘killer’ squad to eliminate the said business partner.

Lagos State police boss, Fatai Owoseni, told newsmen at the weekend that the suspect was nabbed after a tip-off that he has contacted a Nigerian, one Chika Eze, to help him mobilise hired assassins to eliminate his Nigerian business partner, who defrauded him.

“The contract sum of the assassination was N1.5 million, out of which N1.4 million had been paid with a promise to balance up after the deed has been done.

“Both suspects have confessed to the crime with the sum of N1.4 million already recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing while police is on the trail of two other suspects who are at large,” Owoseni said.

The suspect told newsmen that the money he paid to the suspected killers was meant for charms and not for assassination.

“I am a dealer in foot wear. The partner is my customer whom I supply shoes to. He had refused to pay his debt. He even threatened to kill me. He owes me the sum of N4 million. The money I paid to the men I hired wasfor them to prepare me a powerful charm so that he won’t kill me. I did not plan to assassinate him, rather, he was the one planning to kill me.”
