The Force Drone Commander of the Nigeria Police Force Airwing, Chief Superintendent of Police Omolere Adejoke, has received an Award of Honour from the Global Leaders and Business Awards (GLBA) in London in recognition of her contribution to drone surveillance operations.

The award was presented for her role in leading the Airwing’s drone surveillance activities, which the police said have been deployed to support crime prevention and security management across the country.

The Commissioner of Police, Airwing, CP Nwogoh Martin, confirmed the recognition in a statement issued by the Airwing’s Public Relations Liaison Officer, SP Ofem Osong.

According to the statement, the award underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s drive to deepen the use of technology in policing, in line with the reform agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at strengthening professionalism and operational efficiency.

Responding to the recognition, Adejoke dedicated the award to officers and personnel of the Airwing, saying it reflected the collective efforts of the team.

“This award isn’t mine alone. It belongs to every member of my team whose commitment, professionalism, and support have shaped this journey,” she said, adding that she remains committed to serving with integrity and pursuing excellence.

Martin described the recognition as an indication of the professionalism the Force seeks to promote within the Airwing and urged officers to maintain high standards of discipline as the unit continues to expand its technological capabilities.

The deployment of drones has become an increasingly important component of Nigeria’s security operations in recent years, with law enforcement and military agencies relying on the technology for aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and crowd monitoring.
