Police nab man for stabbing friend to death in Lagos

Freeman Solomon is currently in police custody for allegedly stabbing his friend, Israel, to death. According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, before Israel met his untimely death, he and Solomon have had a series of arguments, saying it wasn’t unusual for friends to argue.  

“On June 2, 2022, at about 11.pm, the Police received a distress call that one Israel, age and surname yet unknown, was stabbed and the police rushed to the scene, only to meet the lifeless body of Israel on the ground in front of the house,” he said.
 
Upon enquiry, he noted, it was discovered that one Freeman Solomon of Noble Street, Elepete, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, who happened to be his friend, stabbed him.
 
He continued: “The suspect told us that they were friends and that the victim always troubled him and when he started his trouble, as usual, he pulled out a table knife and Solomon overpowered him and stabbed him on the side of his body. He said he never knew he would succumb to the cold hands of death.
 
“His body has been evacuated and deposited at a mortuary in Epe, Lagos. An autopsy will be carried out for investigation purposes and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).”
