Publisher lauds First Lady’s humanitarian gesture

Oluremi Tinubu

Chairman of Leadership Newspaper Group, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, has lauded the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged across the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the State House in Abuja, Mrs. Nda-Isaiah praised Senator Tinubu’s nationwide humanitarian efforts, describing her as the “Mother of the Nation.”

In a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Busola Kukoyi, Mrs Nda-Isaiah acknowledged the First Lady’s advocacy and interventions, which she said have continued to uplift countless Nigerians.

“I have been observing Your Excellency’s tireless work, and we at Leadership Newspaper believe it is both timely and necessary to publicly express our gratitude for your compassion and impactful initiatives,” Mrs. Nda-Isaiah said.

The visit, which included top members of the Leadership management team, also served as a platform to propose a new partnership between the media organization and the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Vice Chairman of Leadership, Mr. Mike Okpere, unveiled the newspaper’s ambitious mass empowerment project, which seeks to equip 1,000 individuals with practical skills in various sectors, including tie and dye, fishing, tailoring, and more.

Each trained participant would then mentor at least four others, setting a multiplier effect that aims to positively impact as many as 2 million Nigerians.

“The goal is to create financially independent citizens who can also contribute meaningfully to society. We believe that with strategic collaboration, especially with the RHI, this vision can become a reality,” Okpere stated.

Senator Tinubu welcomed the proposed collaboration and assured the delegation of her support for initiatives that align with the goals of RHI, particularly those centered on empowerment and sustainable development.

“I deeply appreciate your visit and the show of support. Helping Nigerians, especially the vulnerable, is a task that goes beyond government; it requires all hands on deck,” the First Lady said.

She commended the media organisation for its consistent backing and acknowledged its role as a responsible media organization that not only informs the public but also takes active steps in national development.
