Reps insist on NIMASA probe over unaudited accounts
House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts yesterday resolved to probe the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) over alleged failure to submit its unaudited account.
The decision by the Wole Oke-led panel followed NIMASA’s alleged refusal to submit its audited accounts to the Auditor General of the Federation (AGF) from 2014 till date.
It, therefore, resolved to investigate the alleged refusal by the Dakuku Peterside-led NIMASA and other non-Treasury Funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to render their accounts. The committee also accused Peterside of failure to explain why he had failed to provide the agency’s audited accounts.
