The House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill aimed at halting the dichotomy between Higher National Diploma (HND) and degree holders in the country.

The House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill aimed at halting the dichotomy between Higher National Diploma (HND) and degree holders in the country.Jointly sponsored by Ali Isa J.C (Gombe: APC) and Edward Pwajok (Plateau: PDP), the piece of legislation scaled the third reading at the plenary presided over by Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

The bill particularly seeks to abolish discrimination between first degree and HND holders in the same profession as well as end the ill-treatment against polytechnic graduates and dismantle the challenges faced by the polytechnic graduates, especially those in the civil service.The legislation reinforces the decision by the Federal Government to end the unsavoury development nationwide.
