Rotaract Club holds medical outreach in Lagos communities

The Rotaract Club of Lagos Metropolitan has held a free medical outreach in four different locations – Mushin, Somolu/Bariga, Obalende and Lagos Mainland.

The outreach saw over 1,000 residents benefitting from health checks, testing, awareness, counselling and free drug distribution.

The health checks include weight and blood pressure, tests for HIV, Syphilis, Malaria, and Cervical Cancer, and lastly, distribution of preventive and treatment drugs.

President of the club, Ademola Ojomoyela, said as a humanitarian and service organisation affiliated with Rotary International, the medical outreach was in fulfilment of the club’s big dreams.

“We believe a healthy family is a healthy community and a healthy community is a healthy nation, which is why we are making a positive impact by taking the outreach to the communities and engaging with community and market leaders in the locations,” he said.

The Club Service Project Director, Taiwo Jones, said the Rotaract Club of Lagos Metropolitan, which aims to touch as many lives as possible, would not rest on its oars as it is set on the next project, tagged “Clothing the needy,” which will be carried out in December in select locations of Lagos.
