Rotary district governor visits Yaba, pledges more projects

The Rotary Club of Yaba Metropolitan, District 9110, has assured of its commitment to the development of the society and continued partnership with other humanitarian organisations.

The Rotary Club of Yaba Metropolitan, District 9110, has assured of its commitment to the development of the society and continued partnership with other humanitarian organisations.

The pledge was made when the District Governor of 9110, Rotn. Kola Sodipo, paid a working visit to the club and the presentation of traffic warden post, reflective jackets to the Sabo Yaba police division and donation of food items to Magnificent Therapy Service.

Speaking with The Guardian on various projects embarked on by the club so far, the Chartered President, Rotn. Hafsat Awosanya, said: “We have been able to complete some of the projects we started in July, one of which is the skill acquisition.”

On his part, the district governor said: “Part of my responsibility as the district governor covering Lagos and Ogun states is to visit every club under my supervision, to motive them, look at their books and also advice them on how to make their clubs stronger and do more impactful project that serve the various communities as rotary clubs.”

On how he plans to visit the 103 clubs under his supervision before the end of his tenure in 2019, he said: “This is the 21st club I am visiting between July and now (August). It’s done in such a way that you programme yourself and give them an itinerary of your movement.” The Divisional Police Officer, Sabo Yaba, Mary Ubangha, said: “We have known the club for its giant strides, the toilet we are using in Ikeja was built by the club and as we thank them for reaching out to us, we call for more like Oliver Twist.”
