Rotary empowers 50 nursing mothers in Lagos

Fifty nursing mothers were recently equipped with 50 infant nursing kits as well as treated mosquito nets by the Rotary Club of Lagos West at the instance of the President of the club, Rotarian Sanyaolu Da-Silva at the Amuwo Odofin primary Health Centre.

The distribution, which received the nod of the District Governor, Rotarian Kola Sodipo, also witnessed a health talk on the prevention of polio and malaria. Sodipo who had earlier launched and commissioned a borehole and block of toilets provided by the Club to Kuje Primary School in Agboju, Amuwo Odofin Local Government area, described the club as an effective one that had been rendering humanitarian services to the needy in the community for the past 35 years. He expressed satisfaction at the records and future projects of the club.

Da-Silva disclosed his club’s plan on education to include giving talks to children as well as carrying out school competitions for both secondary and primary schools with emphasis on mathematics, English and spelling. He revealed his star project for his tenure as provision of water and sanitation to the people in their community along with planting of trees.
