Wealthy and well-to-do people have been charged to always support the less privileged with their resources and make them happy so they have a sense of belonging in nation-building.

The Planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, gave the charge also said Nigeria will get over her numerous challenges if the people show love to one another, imbibe the spirit of selflessness and avoid wasting of our resources

The renowned cleric spoke yesterday while giving financial assistance and clothing to widows numbering 1,200, some aged, and Scholarships to students of secondary schools in Ido-Ekiti, his country home in Ekiti State.

According to him, the annual event which is the eleventh in its series, was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries to raise their hopes in life.

The renowned man of God who was represented by one of his subordinates, Prophet Asonibare Ayomide and Prophet Sam Olu Alo’s PA Mr Deji Ogunbusuyi said: “This programme holds yearly. Today’s one will be marking the eleventh year that the Lord has been using our father, Prophet Sam Olu Alo to empower the Youths and also to encourage the elderly and to assist students of the less privileged who could not get funds to further their academic pursuits.

“The Lord has put it in the heart of our father to actually be of help to the upcoming generation. And like what has happened today, now he is giving out some token to make them happy and also scholarships for the students. That is what normally happens once in a year in this particular ministry.

While appreciating the kind gestures displayed by Prophet Sam Olu Alo to the beneficiaries, Miss Adetona Moyinoluwa, a student of Christ’s Girls School, Ado-Ekiti, said:” I want to say thank you to our father, Prophet Sam Olu Alo for his benevolence.

“I want to say a very big thank you on behalf of students all over who have benefitted in one way or the other from his benevolence. I pray that the Almighty God will continue to bless him, to keep him and that God will continue to protect him and his Ministry shall continue to flourish in Jesus name.”

Speaking on how the ravaging poverty situation could be adequately tackled and banished from the Nigeria society, the clergyman said: “If we can have the spirit of Love. This is what I see that is missing. If you look at today’s congregation, we have Muslims, we have Non-Christians. It’s not about Christianity now, It’s about humanity. If we love each other, We we would be able to touch lives.

“This is the example that the Lord has been using Prophet Sam Olu Alo for. If we can learn from him or we are able to do exactly or more than what he has been doing, I want to believe that this country will be better.

“Secondly, If we can do away with selfishness, i believe this country will go a long way. If we can as well do away with wastefulness and can spend our resources on things that matter, bringing up the upcoming generation in the way of the Lord and Love, I believe this country will be better.”

On how preaching of the gospel could be employed to address the Socio-economic problems confronting the country, the cleric noted that poverty to him has nothing to do with religion.

According to him: “Every bad follower will always produce bad leaders. If we must eradicate poverty in this country, poverty has nothing to do with religion.

“Let me say again that we as Christians does not mean that we will be rich or poor. Poverty has to do with finding to do something. Even as a believer, fine, gospel is good, but gospel does not really mean that poverty will be taken away.

“Please, I stand to be corrected .If you going to church and you don’t have the work doing, go and find a work to do. You can go into Agriculture, we have a lot of work we can involve ourselves in.”
