Sanwo-Olu promises justice for Whitney as Commissioner visits family

The Lagos State Ministry of Education has assured the parents of Whitney Adeniran, the Chrisland School’s pupil, who died during the school sports day, that no effort would spared to get justice for her.

The Lagos State Ministry of Education has assured the parents of Whitney Adeniran, the Chrisland School’s pupil, who died during the school sports day, that no effort would spared to get justice for her.

The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, stated this during a condolence visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adeniran, at their residence in Lagos.

Adefisayo, who confirmed the receipt of the post-mortem report on the cause of Whitney’s death, restated the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ensure that nothing would be spared at ensuring appropriate interrogation of the cause and prosecution of anyone found culpable.

Adefisayo assured the parents that the Ministry of Education shared in their grief and would be with the family in the journey for justice.

The Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Abayomi Abolaji; Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni; Executive Secretary, Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi and others.

Recall the 12-year-old student died on February 9, 2023, during the school’s inter-house sports activities at Agege Stadium, Lagos State. She was buried on Thursday.
