Apprehend One Bandit, Others Flee With Bullet Wounds
Security operatives in Kaduna State have foiled attempts by terrorists to kidnap inhabitants of Giwa community, forcing the terrorists to flee with bullet wounds after a gun battle with troops.
In a statement, the Kaduna Police Command said: “On November 17, 2022, acting on information that some armed bandits on motorcycles were sighted along Galadimawa Tumburku Road in Giwa Local Council, the Commissioner of Police, Yekini Ayoku Psc immediately ordered the deployment of a combined Police detachment of Operation Whirl Punch along with the special divisional team to clear the highway of the miscreants.”
The Police spokesman, DSP Muhammad Jalinge, said: “In the ensuing engagement, the bandits caved into the superior firepower and professional tactical maneuver of the operatives as they scampered with varying degrees of bullet wounds.
“This was, however, not before one of the outlaws, Tasiu Malam, who later gave his address as Madugu Village was apprehended and five of their operational motorcycles recovered.
“The residents have been enjoined to look out for and report suspicious individuals with bullet wounds to the Police and other appropriate security agencies.”
The CP acknowledged and appreciated the community’s role in the joint responsibility of ensuring a safe and secured public space, assuring of his continuous engagement with all stakeholders in line with the community policing strategy of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
He additionally charged officers to always be at their professional best while tackling crime and criminalities, as they would continue to be commensurately motivated and rewarded for their exploits.
