Former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Zone in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has called on the Federal Government to release children detained in prison custody after participating in the protest against bad governance in Nigeria.

According to him, it is unfortunate that the children, considered minors were mobilized to participate in the protest against bad governance and economic hardship in the country.

The former lawmaker and civil rights crusader in a statement on Friday said, ” The arrangement of those minors for their participation in protest is most unfortunate and shameful for our country’s democracy.”

He noted that “the Federal Government should withdraw the charges against them and return them back to their states.”
