Stakeholders canvass digitisation of mineral titles
Stakeholders in the mining sector have called on the Federal Government to digitise mineral titles for efficiency and attraction to foreign investors.
They made the appeal yesterday at the 2019 Mining Week in Abuja, adding that the move would make the sector more transparent for investors to source information.
The Director, Mining Cadastre Office, Obadiah Nkom, submitted that government had begun training of personnel to superintend the entire process.
To the Director, Mineral Sector Support for Economic Diversification (MinDiver), Linus Adie, digitisation would ensure transparency and service delivery.
Chairman of the organising committee, Shehu Sani, looked forward to the birth of a digitised mineral title department to make the country a mining destination.
