Organizers of this year’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Summit and Awards have said they plan to delve into the transformative potential of climate policy in shaping Africa’s development and redefining the global energy landscape.
They noted that as the global shift towards sustainable energy accelerates, Nigeria is stepping up its commitment to a greener future, a focus, they said, was in line with the summit.
According to them, this year’s theme, ‘Nigeria’s Green Transition Efforts and Climate Change Revolution’, highlights the growing role of climate action as both an environmental imperative and an economic opportunity.
Holding in Lagos on May 22, the event, they noted, would centre on the country’s expanding climate change legislation, its ambitious Project Evergreen, and emerging carbon markets.
The exhibition, the stakeholders added, would offer organisations a strategic platform to engage their target markets, display innovations, and reaffirm their commitments to sustainability.
Complementing the summit and exhibition, they said, is the 2025 National Sustainability Achievement Awards. which would honour organisations making outstanding contributions to sustainable development in Nigeria.
They said the awards recognise entities that meet human needs, while conserving national resources, and advancing environmental stewardship. The event, they said, is organised by ESG Impact Consulting Ltd., a sustainability-focused firm dedicated to developing practical solutions to the country’s environmental and social challenges.
The organisers said through research, reports, and tailored ESG services, the firm supports organisations in aligning with global sustainability standards.
It added that with the 2025 ESG Summit, the most populous black nation is taking bold steps to lead Africa in the green transition, turning climate challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth and innovation.
