The new president of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Emma Okas Wike, has urged the Federal Government to set aside an intervention fund for the real estate industry to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy and practitioners.

Speaking at the virtual yearly general meeting and his inauguration as 24th president of the association at the weekend in Abuja, Wike acknowledged that the sector had been greatly affected by the epidemic.

The NIESV boss observed that real estate was an area government should concentrate on to create the much-needed jobs, and engender the rebound of the economy in the post-coronavirus era.
