Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has approved the appointment of Alhaji Lawal Maidoki as the substantive Chairman of the state’s Zakkat and Endowment Commission.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bashir Garba and issued on Sunday.

Garba said that the appointment of Maidoki was based on merit.

He, therefore, urged Maidoki to live above board.

The News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Maidoki had been holding the position in an acting capacity.
