Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Elders’ Committee has described as unfortunate the recent protest in Abuja that demanded the arrest of Senator Jonah David Jang and General T.Y. Danjuma for their alleged involvement in the killings in Plateau State.

Chairman of the committee and former governor of the state, Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun, yesterday, said both Jang and Danjuma are men of proven integrity who have made their marks when they held sway in Nigeria.

Tapgun said the protesters were hired, adding that the possibility of government being behind it cannot be ruled out.

Jang, who represents Plateau Northern Senatorial District, noted that as the 2019 general elections draw nearer, some inconsequential elements are trying at all costs to frame him up so that he does not participate in the elections.

Jang stated that the insinuation that he was responsible for the killings of Berom people is designed to incarcerate him and silence him permanently.
