A vigilante group, yesterday, killed 12 bandits terrorising residents and communities in Bali Local Council of Taraba State.

The Guardian learnt that the council had recently been under severe attacks by bandits, resulting in the abduction and death of several persons.

Confirming the incident, the council boss, Micah Danbaba Dakka, said the vigilante has been working tirelessly to track down the bandits and the effort finally yielded results yesterday.

According to him, the vigilante had been chasing the bandits from nearby Gassol Local Council till they were finally tracked to Dogoruwa village, where the bandits were killed.

Commending vigilante groups in the council, Dakka said he would continue to collaborate with all security outfits to flush out bandits and other hoodlums from the council.

The residents who exploded with joy as the news of the killings filtered through the council told The Guardian that they can now go to bed with their two eyes closed.

They called on the government to support vigilante groups, who according to them, have been working round the clock to keep the council safe from bandits and other undesirable elements.
