Tech Women Fest have emphasised the role of women in technology in championing inclusivity and innovation in Africa’s digital ecosystem.
The event, which took place in Lagos, Nigeria, was a dynamic blend of insightful conversations, inspiring stories, and invaluable networking opportunities aimed at fostering a more inclusive tech ecosystem.
Organised by Nezatech Africa, with support from Tunga and Infrest, Tech Women Fest, brought together over 250 women passionate about driving innovation and creating impact in the tech industry.
The one-day conference featured speakers such as, Cofounder and COO, Semicolon, Ashley Emmanuel; Deputy General Manager, Business Development, eTranzact PLC, Adedayo Adejokun, and other top women in the industry. These trailblazers shared their expertise on topics such as breaking barriers in tech leadership, leveraging data for business growth, and the importance of mentorship in advancing careers.
Marketing Lead, Shecluded and Event Producer, Tech Women Fest, Tolu Olawumi, speaking about the event, said.

Founder and Convener, Nezatech Africa, Toyin Abioye, emphasising the significance of the event, said, “Tech Women Fest is our way of saying to every woman in tech, ‘You belong here, and your contributions are vital.’ This first edition’s turnout and engagement reaffirm our belief in the power of women to transform Africa’s digital landscape.”
The keynote speech on “Elevating the African Woman in Tech,” highlighted the importance of creating equitable opportunities, fostering mentorship networks, and leveraging technology to address unique challenges faced by women in Africa’s digital landscape.
This was followed by a panel discussion on “Building Inclusive Tech Communities: The Impact of Women in Africa’s Digital Ecosystem”, where panelists shared strategies for fostering inclusion and driving innovation in technology.
