The Young Talent FIT Initiative on May 23, 2026, hosted its 13th Students and Teens Competition at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre, Akure, bringing together hundreds of students, educators, dignitaries, and partners in a celebration of youth talent, creativity, and development.
The event, organised to mark the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, featured music and essay writing competitions designed to discover, nurture, and showcase emerging talents across Ondo State. After a rigorous screening and mentoring process, 10 finalists qualified for the music category, while five contestants advanced to the essay writing finals.
At the end of the competition, Telnet International Schools emerged as the winner of the music category with an outstanding performance, followed by Benjamin Peace in second place and Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure, in third.
In the essay writing category, Adebayo Faith clinched first place with an exceptional display of originality and depth, while Osuntuyi Victor of Magen and Shilde College came second, and Ojo Olwatimilehin placed third.
The competition forms part of the Young Talent FIT Initiative’s 13-year commitment to youth empowerment, focusing on building confidence, discipline, and purpose in young individuals through structured development, mentorship, and exposure.
The event attracted notable personalities, including Hon. Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; representatives of the Ondo State Ministry of Education; Rev. Ademola Awoyele; and other distinguished guests.
A major highlight of the programme was the strong support from sponsors and partners who contributed to its success and impact. Key supporters included Tolaram Group (makers of Indomie), Ariel Hair Canada, Tyne College UK, Hon. Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Sophia Studios, NIINA Technology, Ayaba Creations, and several others.
Their contributions ranged from product support and cash prizes to career and development opportunities. Indomie provided meals and distributed products to participants; Ariel Hair Canada, Tyne College UK, and Hon. Adeniyan supported with cash rewards; Sophia Studios awarded a recording deal to the winner of the music category; while NINNA Technology and Ayaba Creations offered professional training opportunities to selected participants.
Speaking at the event, guest speaker Evang. Sola Oki commended the Founder and CEO of Young Talent FIT Initiative, Fulness Tolulope Adisa, for her consistency in creating platforms that empower young people and promote purposeful expression.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Tommy Adisa, expressed appreciation to sponsors, partners, and supporters, describing the initiative as “a life-changing platform committed to raising confident and future-ready leaders.”
Beyond the competition, the initiative continues to stand out as a platform for transformation, equipping participants with skills, exposure, and opportunities that extend beyond the stage.
The next edition of the Young Talent FIT Initiative Competition is scheduled to be held on May 29, 2027.
