Terra Industries wins $1m contract to secure Kaduna mining project

Terra Industries has secured a $1 million phase-one contract from Anka Metals to provide security services for the Jema’a Resource Project in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

The contract covers the deployment of autonomous surveillance and site-protection systems at the mining project, marking the first agreement under a broader partnership between Terra Industries and Anka Metals for mining security.

The Jema’a Resource Project, located at Gidan Waya, comprises a multi-metallic deposit containing gold, lithium, copper and nickel. The project is regarded as one of Nigeria’s significant mineral assets and is expected to play a role in the development of the country’s mining sector.

In July, the project and the Kaduna Mining Development Company signed agreements with the Africa Finance Corporation under a $500 million framework aimed at financing and developing mining assets across Kaduna State.

With development activities advancing, security has become a key priority for the project. Terra Industries will provide autonomous surveillance and protection capabilities designed to monitor the site and support security operations.

The company said its commercial division develops surveillance and deterrence systems for critical infrastructure operators, including mining, oil and power companies operating in environments where security coverage is limited and response times can be lengthy.

According to the company, the systems deployed for commercial clients are built on the same autonomous technology stack it supplies to defence customers.

Terra Industries said its mission is to provide countries and operators in the Global South with the technological capabilities required to protect critical assets and strengthen security.

The company works with governments, infrastructure operators and strategic partners across Africa and internationally.
