Tributes as Archbishop Ekewuba is buried in Imo
The late General Overseer of the Overcomers Christian Mission, Archbishop Alexander Ezeugo Ekewuba, was buried at the weekend in Owerri, Imo State.
Ekewuba, from Avu village, was laid to rest at the headquarters of the church at Prefab area of Owerri, near the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
At the funeral at the Heroes Square, personalities from across religions and other divides paid tribute to the late archbishop.
The officiating priest, Rev. Uma Upkai, urged humans to live upright right while on earth.
Also, the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, extolled how the late Ekewuba devoted his life to God from the age of 20, till he departed at 72.
He urged church leaders to always preach peace and love, and avoid utterances that could promote anger, hatred and other social vices.
Okorocha inaugurated the Archbishop Ezeugo Ekewuba Foundation for the Church and family to keep his name alive.
Former Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University, Prof. Bethram.E.B Nwoke, also paid tribute to the late cleric
According to Okorocha, the late religious leader did not die, but transited to glory, as he never betrayed his calling as a priest.
