Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State, will confer honorary doctoral degrees on four distinguished Nigerians, including the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Amina Mohammed, and former military Governor of Kano State, Col. Sani Bello (rtd) at its 42nd Convocation on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Other recipients are former bursar of the university, Muhammadu Jibo; and Katsina-based philanthropist, Fatima Usman-Kurfi.

ABU’s Director of Public Affairs, Auwalu Umar, disclosed this in a statement, yesterday.

He explained: “The decision by the institution to confer the honorary degrees on the illustrious Nigerians followed recommendation of the Honorary Degrees Committee to the senate of the university.

“The senate approved the committee’s recommendation and made same to the Governing Council, which finally approved it.”
