The University of Benin Alumni Association (UBAA), Worldwide is set for its 2019 Global Home Coming (GHC) event, which is scheduled to hold November 13-16, 2019 at the Ugbowo campus of the institution.

Disclosing this at a briefing in Abuja, the president worldwide of the association, Eng. Ikenna Obiasor maintained that the GHC is the largest gathering of graduates from the university, including members from the North American (UBAANA), United Kingdom (UBAAUK) and Canada (UBAACAN) branches.

According to him, the event would afford members an opportunity to meet, re-unite and socialize with old school and classmates, have a free tour of the university, visit places of interests and also have a first-hand assessment of facilities and then, mirror on possible areas where they could lend a hand. It will also afford members and non-members the opportunity to showcase their products and services in a Special Entrepreneurial/Business Hub section. He said that the event would be climaxed by the conferment of the Distinguished Alumnus award on some deserving members of the association.

Obiasor disclosed that the association has over the years made huge impact on the lives of members and especially in the university. He asserted that the alumni completed and successfully handed over to the university a 1,000 Mike Akhigbe Lecture Theater for use by the teeming population of students.

The association has started the building of a 60-room alumni guest house in the university. He urged all members, friends, and partners of the association to contribute their quota to ensure its completion.
