Tasks Imo APC officials on inclusive politics

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, yesterday, announced between N1 million and N5 million cash reward for any person, who provide useful information that could facilitate the arrest of bandits in the state.

He also charged elected officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to use their positions in ensuring cohesion and inclusiveness in the party politics of the state.

Uzodimma gave the advice when the State Working Committee (SWC), comprising the state, council and ward chairmen and secretaries of the party led by its Chairman, Dr. MacDonald Ebere, visited him at the Government House, Owerri.

He stressed that he was determined to end insecurity in the state.

The governor reminded them that their positions were critical to APC’s ideals and vision and charged them not to disappoint the people who have entrusted them with power.

Uzodimma, who equally advised them to admit willing and intending members into the party, irrespective of their backgrounds and political leanings, cautioned the officials against doing themselves a disservice.

He assured them of a prosperous year, maintaining that his administration was anchored on democratic ideals even at the council and ward levels.

Urging unity among the officials and regular meetings, he wondered why the opposition elements were blind to his achievements at all levels, despite the pervading insecurity, noting that his achievements were made possible by the support of Imo people and the Federal Government.

He assured that vigilance groups would soon be established at the ward and council levels to enhance security.

Speaking, Ebere, said the executive was ready to serve and reposition the party for greater results, adding: “The APC of yesterday is different from that of today and the executive from the ward to the state levels are poised to work and achieve better results for the party.”

Also speaking, Vice Chairman of APC in the state, Matthew Omegara, assured of the party’s readiness to support the governor in actualising his administration’s 3Rs mantra and prayed to God to help him actualise the agenda.
