A house of Representatives candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lanre Sarumi, yesterday, said the South-West Security Network, code-named Amotekun Corps, must be recognised and empowered.

He said he would support the move and support a bill to ensure that the Amotekun becomes one of the security outfits in the country.

Sarumi, who stated this during a media parley in Ibadan, said his mission to Abuja was to make life meaningful for his constituents and identify with the less privileged.

The PDP candidate also assured the people of the constituency of his readiness to support and champion bills that would create employment opportunities, bring investment opportunities and meaningful and purposeful development to Nigeria, Oyo State and Ibadan North in particular.

Sarumi expressed his readiness to engage and synergise with both public and private sectors to create avenue for development of the people of the constituency, saying that when elected, he will use the position to facilitate many developmental projects, particularly loan facilities for market men and women at Bodija, Sango and other markets within the constituency, as well as small scale enterprises.
