Wife of OAU ex-VC, Afolasade Omole, dies

Mrs. Afolasade Adenola (nee Onakoya), wife of former vice-chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Wale Omole, has passed on.

Aged 66 years, the deceased, who was deputy registrar at the tertiary institution, and secretary, Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (I.A.R.& T), Ibadan, died on July 15, 2020, after a brief illness.

An alumnus of Queens School, Ede/Ibadan and OAU, where she was also an assistant lecturer, Mrs. Omole was a seasoned administrator who equally had a stint at the Distance Learning Institute of the University of Lagos.

A devout Christian, the late educator was a two-term president of the Christian Morning Star Society of Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Ikeja.

She is survived by three children, grandchildren and three younger brothers.
