expresses confidence in economic prospects
The Zamfara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ZCCIMA) has congratulated Governor Dauda Lawal on his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a positive step for the state’s economic and political future.
In a statement issued by its President, Alhaji Hassan Buhari Tafida, the chamber—representing the organised private sector, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, traders, and investors—said the development would strengthen political stability and enhance collaboration with the Federal Government.
According to Tafida, the decision is expected to unlock broader opportunities for economic growth, investment inflow, and industrial development across Zamfara State.
“Following extensive consultations with our members and stakeholders, the chamber wishes to reaffirm its strong confidence in the leadership, vision, and development agenda of His Excellency,” he said.
He noted that the business community recognises the progress made so far in infrastructure development, economic reforms, and efforts to reposition the state for sustainable growth.
“In view of the gains already recorded, we believe that continuity in leadership is critical to consolidating these achievements,” Tafida added.
The chamber also declared its full support for the governor’s leadership and endorsed the continuity of his administration into a second term, stressing that sustained leadership would help drive ongoing economic transformation in the state.
ZCCIMA further reiterated its commitment to partnering with the government to promote investment, expand industrial activities, create jobs, and boost economic prosperity.
It expressed optimism that the proposed loan facility programme for businesses and entrepreneurs, earlier promised by the governor, would soon be implemented to support indigenous enterprises and stimulate growth.
“The chamber remains confident that with sustained collaboration between the government and the private sector, Zamfara State will emerge as a leading hub for commerce, agriculture, mining, and industry in Northern Nigeria,” the statement added.
