Following efforts to salvage the economies of Imo State and other South East states, the Imo Economic Summit Group (IESG), will hold on November 30, 2021 through a webinar to discuss economic development strategies.

A statement issued yesterday by the convener of #StartupSouth and Director of Communication at IESG, Uche Aniche, revealed that Group Chairman of Zinox Technologies, Leo Stan Ekeh will be keynote speaker on Enhancing Fiscal Competitiveness for Sub-nationals.

Others speakers, who will feature in the summit through free Zoom participation are: Founding Partner, InfoGraphics, Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu; Managing Partner, Alliance Law Firm, Uche Val Obi; Group Managing Director, Cowry Asset, Johnson Chukwu; Founding Partner, Nextier, Patrick O. Okigbo and Board Chairman of SENEC, Chris Okoye.

Aniche said: “At IESG, we believe emerging trends require stronger subnational economies in Nigeria going forward.

“As an organisation founded with the aim of assisting the Imo State Government to deepen its economic development, it is our responsibility to provide a platform where these trends are dissected for the benefit of the government and people of the state.

“The webinar will provide us an opportunity in furtherance of that goal.”

Also speaking, President of IESG and Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Coscharis Group, Dr. Okey Nwuke, said: “We are poised to elevate economic and development conversations to support the government in realising the potentials of dear state.

“The IESGroup will on Wednesday, November 30, 2021 gather experts for a webinar to explore ways of reengineering the economy of Imo State and by extension that of the South East region.”

A statement from the organisers explained that IESG is an independent non-partisan organisation that supports and complements government’s economic development policies, galvanising the private sector to drive investment inflow, creating opportunities and prosperity for Imo State.

It said the group comprises seasoned professionals with proven personal accomplishments, as well as overwhelming and altruistic passion for developing the state.
