How Buhari’s ‘Next Level’ will annihilate Nigeria
Sir: The Afenifere faction led by Ayo Fasanmi is upholding the tradition of the late Chief Bola Ige who abandoned Pa Abraham Adesanya (of blessed memory) to join the then President General Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ). The fact that Ige died miserably after falling out with the political party that he went to ally with is still fresh in our memories. Ige’s action led me to know that we also have in Yoruba-land people like Prof. Jerry Gana who always supported anybody in power throughout Nigeria’s military era and beyond. God Almighty will visit Fasanmi and his cohorts who are supporting the reelection of the President, General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB), with the lot of the victims of his (GMB’s) unjustifiable war against Boko Haram and protection of the Fulani herdsmen terrorists. One by one those who are insensitive to the carnage and economic destruction of Nigeria will die regrettably and miserably.
GMB lied that he did not have N45 million to pay for his reelection nomination form, while his wife, Aisha, who became an emergent philanthropist and was spending money like sand since about two years ago, contradicted her husband (GMB) through her financial extravagance. GMB had to give money to some other people to pay for him, to deceive Nigerians that he was financially wretched, third year into his own presidency and feign popularity. Yes, baloney! Hence OBJ is apt, describing GMB’s “integrity and morality as fake and un-bankable.” If you want to know that GMB is a multi-billionaire, look at the lifestyle of his wife and children. Consider also that GMB doubles himself as the Petroleum Minister, increased fuel price from N87 to N145 per liter, and he is recovering looted funds without accountability for anything to anybody. Hence I call him a dare thief catching thieves, while some foolish and dishonest Nigerians are thinking that they have found a corruption fighter in GMB.
We have to blame the level of intelligence of such people, and the fact that GMB is funding numerous supporter-groups and powerful propaganda to portray himself as incorruptible, while, at the same time preventing public accountability in the oil sector and recovery of looted funds. GMB can also not account for the many human lives and economic resources he has squandered (and he is squandering) on his resolve to defeat rather than seek peace with Boko Haram and his protection of the Fulani herdsmen terrorists. Hence well-meaning Nigerians should mobilise for the electoral victory of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to pursue peace and reorder Nigeria for progress and stability.
Common Nigerians should ignore Christo-Islamic clerics and any traditional ruler selling them to GMB, because his “Next Level” means continued carnage and economic destruction of Nigeria, which will worsen the condition of workers, including university teachers, students and their parents who are industrialists, artisans and traders, without any attention to the deteriorated and deteriorating infrastructure. Stop carnage and economic destruction of Nigeria!
