Our rulers and aspiring rulers

Sir: I commend the legislators who could not stomach the daylight foolery that President Muhammadu Buhari was rolling out in the course of his presentation of the 2019 budget, scoring himself high in office when security and market prices are nothing to write about.

The terrorist group created by bad leadership has increased to three: the oppressed Boko Haram; the protected Fulani herdsmen terrorists, and the pursued armed bandits.

The president must take full responsibility for the carnage and economic destruction of Nigeria, as the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.

If Lagosians believe that Babajide Sanwo-Olu is a just man for paying toll for passing vehicles for one hour, let them vote for him to perpetuate bribery and corruption. He has also promised to demolish all tollgates, even though Lagos is heavy in debts, and tollgates are not supposed to be a problem but providing good economy. Lagosians should rally round Jimi Agbaje. No developed nation known to me is dominated by insensitive and greedy leaders.

Even then, it is only Lagosians and south-westerners who can decide whether to continue sitting on the fence and watch demolition of people’s houses and shops; politicization of Islam and Christianity, and mass abject poverty.

It is up to Nigerians to vote against carnage and economic destruction of Nigeria, or rally round Atiku Abubakar to pursue peace for progress.
