Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Monday urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, to focus his attention on the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate, Mr Bimbo Adekanmbi, rather than criticising his administration.

Makinde gave the advice at the Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The governor urged Alli to channel his energy towards the governorship contest with the APM candidate instead of attacking his administration.

The event, themed “Young, United, Unstoppable (YUU),” also served as a platform for the formal reception of popular Ibadan-based political organiser, Mr Ajiboye Akande Sangogade, popularly known as Boye Nation, and his supporters into the APM.

Sangogade, an ally of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, led thousands of his supporters from the APC into the APM at the event.

Makinde who is the presidential candidate of the APM said Alli should direct his political energy towards the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 election.

The governor’s remarks came amid preparations by political parties and their candidates for the 2027 elections in Oyo State.

The mega concert featured performances by Fuji artistes, including Alhaji Taye Currency and Babatunmise, among others.

The event was attended by leaders and candidates of the APM, including senatorial candidates Hon. Shina Abiola Peller for Oyo North and Hon. Ajadi Oguntoyinbo for Oyo Central.
