The Ondo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to backing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that the state will exceed its previous electoral performance.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state, Idowu Ajanaku, stated that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in his capacity as the leader of the party in the state, will mobilise all necessary resources and political structures in support of the President’s re-election campaign.

Ajanaku disclosed this during a media engagement with journalists following the conclusion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention held in Abuja.

According the Commissioner, the state’s leadership views the 2027 poll as a critical opportunity to consolidate the gains of the current administration.

Ajanaku noted that Ondo State had already distinguished itself in the 2023 general elections by delivering the highest number of votes for President Tinubu across the entire South-West geopolitical zone.

He expressed strong optimism that the state would not only repeat but surpass that record when Nigerians return to the polls in 2027.

The Commissioner further disclosed that Aiyedatiwa has assured party stakeholders of intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at doubling the previous feat, emphasising that the
strategy, would reinforce the APC’s dominance in state.

Ajanaku described the just concluded National Convention as a demonstration of unity, strength, and electoral readiness, noting that the seamless conduct of the gathering had further positioned the party for victory, particularly in the 2027 presidential contest.

“The President has shown unprecedented commitment to infrastructural transformation across Nigeria, and Ondo State is a direct beneficiary of this vision.

“From the 71-kilometre Ondo portion of the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project to the construction of the Ore-Ondo Road and the proposed Ondo Sea Port, these are not mere promises but tangible developments that have already begun to reshape our economic landscape. These interventions fully justify our sustained support for President Tinubu.”
